Williams named Man of the Year
Before a ladies' night crowd at the Martinez Jaycees annual Distinguished Service Awards Banquet last Thursday night, a surprised and happy John T. Williams Jr. accepted the annual DSA award as Martinez Young Man of the Year from Jaycee DSA chairman Bill Bryant.
In accepting the award, Williams said, "I have received many honors in my life, but this has to rank as one of the greatest moments of all. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart."
This award is given annually to a young man between the ages of 21 and 35 who has done the most toward the betterment of his community.
Williams, who is employed by the Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp., is married to the former Jane Means of Appling.
