Five Columbia County athletes and one coach received medals Tuesday night at the Greater Augusta Sports Council's Greater Augusta Medal for Excellence in Sports awards gala.
Two athletes, Evans sophomore quarterback Kevin Millward and Augusta Christian senior quarterback Lee Banks, brought home gold medals in the categories of Rising Star and Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year, respectively.
Lakeside's Kyle Hill (All-Around Male Athlete) and Chris Drayton (Outstanding Male Athlete) received silver medals, while Evans' Elena Hubbard (Rising Star) received a bronze medal.
Augusta Christian athletic director and football coach Bruce Lane was awarded a bronze medal for Outstanding Coach of the Year.
