Spaghetti dinner

Riverview United Methodist Church, located at 1224 Furys Ferry Road, Evans, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday to raise funds for renovations. Tickets cost $5 for dine-in or takeout. For information, call Linda Collez, 869-8754.

Writers group

CSRA Writers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 1336 Augusta West Parkway. Writers needing a support group are invited to attend and bring eight copies of a manuscript to be critiqued. For information, call Lela Turnbull at 738-4114.

Tuesday is the deadline for high school seniors to apply for the Ronald McDonald House Charities National Scholarship Program. For information, go to www.rmhc.org, click on Programs, then RMHC Scholarship Programs, and follow the links to the application.

Chamber meeting

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual inaugural meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. The event will honor chamber volunteers and name a small business person of the year and the first Lifetime Achievement Award winner. Tickets to the event cost $35 for chamber members, $50 for nonmembers.

Library gala

The Columbia County Library and Performing Arts Center gala will be held from 7-11 p.m. Saturday at the new facility in Evans. Tickets cost $100, and include entertainment by area artists.

Scholarships available

The National Federation of Independent Business' Young Entrepreneur Foundation is accepting applications for its fourth annual scholarship program for high school seniors, the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards.

Current high school seniors may download the PDF application today, or apply online through the Scholarship Program Administrator's Web site. The deadline is March 15.
