Assisted-living residents appreciate visits, especially during holidays

I am writing for my mother, Joan DuBois, who lives in Knob Hill Assisted Living Facility in Columbia County. She wishes to thank Columbia County and The News-Times for remembering the nursing homes and assisted Living facilities with your holiday spirits.

The Girl Scouts and Ladies Auxiliary came to visit, as did so many other facilities, and made the men and women in the homes feel loved and cared for. There are so many people who are in these homes who have no one to visit or think of them, and they made them feel special and loved.

My mother has been a resident of Columbia County for many years and enjoyed the visits from everyone. She moved to an assisted living facility a few months ago and is quite comfortable there, but the holidays can be stressful for people. We visit all the time, but there are people living there who have no one to visit with them, so this made them feel loved.

Thank you for caring.

Joan DuBois,

Evans
