I am upset about the way the American people are handling "Merry Christmas." We as Americans need to go back and remember why this country was founded. People were not being allowed to worship as they pleased. Our country was founded on religion, yet a handful of non-whatevers want to completely change the country's history.
We have already allowed these people to take prayer and the pledge to the flag out of schools. Now they want to completely change our holiday sayings. This is a disgrace to our fighting sons and daughters who are putting their lives on the line for our history and freedom. If we are going to change everything, then we should not teach history in schools; we should not remember the persecuted Jews, Pearl Harbor, World War I or II or anything else.
We as Americans need to stand up to these yahoos and keep our traditions and history. If they are offended, then let them move out of this country. ...
"Merry Christmas" is tradition and part of our heritage, so tell me what is offensive about it? Are we to change all the lyrics in songs and poems just to please a few? Or are the majority going to stop allowing these people to tell us what we can and cannot say?
