King discussion

Christian messages in the work of horror writer Stephen King will be the topic of a book discussion from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the offices of Church of the Holy Comforter, 1105 Fury's Lane, Suite C, Martinez. The discussion will be led by Barry Paschal, the publisher of The Columbia County News-Times, and will include Salem's Lot, The Stand, Desperation and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Harvest Fest

In Focus Church of Evans will hold Harvest Fest 2005 starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday with candy for children, a cookout, praise and worship by the In Focus band, a performance by Wave, and a video presentation at 9 p.m. for youth (with parental discretion advised).
