Dancing for Katrina victims

Pupils at Martinez Elementary School recently participated in a Hurricane Katrina relief effort. The school exceeded its goal of raising $2,000 for victims. Principal Michele Sherman (from left), paraprofessional Sue Cox and first-grade teacher Susan Thigpen did the "birdie dance" and greeted cars in the parking lot to thank pupils, parents and the community for their participation.
