Costumes needed

The MCG Children's Medical Center is requesting donations of new Halloween costumes for hospitalized children. Call Katie Lawhead at 721-4392 or drop off donations at the Family Services Development Office, BT 1964, MCG Children's Medical Center.

Meeting postponed

A monthly Harlem City Council meeting originally scheduled for Monday has been postponed one week because of the Columbus Day holiday. The work session will be held Thursday. Both meetings will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at Harlem City Hall, 320 North Louisville St. Call 556-0043.

Red Ribbon event

The 2005 Red Ribbon Border-Tying Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the South Carolina Welcome Center on Interstate 20. For information, call 821-1467.

Chamber breakfast

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, 671 N. Belair Road, Evans, across from the Doctors Hospital Field. Harry Bloomer and Diana Douglas, of GMH Military Housing, will discuss privatization of Fort Gordon's Army family housing. Legal help

Free legal help for seniors with noncriminal issues will be available from 8:15-10:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Bessie Thomas Community Center, 5913 Euchee Creek Drive, Grovetown. Call 721-2327.

Church Yard Sale

Wesley United Methodist Church will hold its annual fall yard sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The church is located at 825 N. Belair Road in Evans. Proceeds will go to missions.

Columbia County is still seeking vendors for the seventh annual Arts and Renaissance Festival and Juried Art Show, to be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 16, at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. For information, call 312-7194.
