Evans band fund-raiser

The Evans High School Band Boosters are accepting orders for Indian River Fruit to raise funds for the band program. Orders may be placed through Nov. 7 with any band member, or by calling Tammie or Perry Austin at 863-8836.

Lacrosse players needed

The Columbia County Lacrosse Club is seeking high school athletes who want to play lacrosse this fall for a county team that will play other Georgia teams. New players are welcomed and encouraged. For information, call Jeff at 854-1908.

Boy Scout benefit

Local Boy Scout Troop 15 is holding a "Skeet-R-Done for Scouting" benefit on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pinetucky Skeet and Trap Club in south Augusta. All are invited to participate regardless of experience. The event will benefit the Boy Scouts of America and the construction of the Knox Scout Reservation, a regional scout camp with limited public access. Traveling baseball tryouts
