Queen keeps it in family
For the second time in two years, a member of the Hamilton family has been crowned Evans High School's homecoming queen.

This time, Paige Michelle Hamilton took home the honors, following in the footsteps of her big sister Chastity, the winner in 2003.
"I didn't expect to win," Paige said. "Homecoming court is an honor itself."
Paige is the president of the student council, a member of the Health Occupations Students of America, Interact, Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Discipleship. She plans to attend David Lipscomb University and wants be a pediatric nurse.
When her name was announced, cheers from the crowd and a rush of hugs from fellow homecoming court members greeted the newly crowned Hamilton.
"It's a really big night," Paige said.
"I'm excited. Wow, I was nervous but it was nervous excitement."
Sharon Hamilton, the girls' mother, said it's the way her girls treat their peers and their respect for themselves that makes them well-liked.
"They're just very loving, caring people," Sharon said. "I'm just overwhelmed."
The proud father echoed his wife's sentiments.
"They're some good girls," he said. "Everybody likes them and I guess that's what it takes."
First runner-up for homecoming queen was Kasey Marie Bandy. She was escorted by her father, Lew Bandy. Kasey.
Two girls tied for second runners-up: Kendra Brown and Cayla Marlene Hale. Kendra was escorted by her father, Clinton Brown. Cayla was escorted by her father, Bobby Hale.
The other members of the court included: Meredith Lauren Foster, escorted by her father, William Foster; Lieghton Sue Huffman, escorted by her father, Jimmy Huffman; Dena Salvador, escorted by her father, Brian Salvador; Janelle Kathleen Voldness, escorted by her father, Mike Voldness; Kayla Anne Wheatley, escorted by her father, Steve Wheatley; and Jennings Elizabeth Williams, escorted by her father, David Jennings Williams.
