Grovetown voters will face changes in early voting and at Nov. 8 polls

The deadline for voter registration for the Nov. 8 Grovetown City General Election and Special Election is Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. If you are not registered prior to this date, you will not be allowed to participate in this election. Please remember you must be a resident of the city of Grovetown and at least 18 years of age to vote.

Due to the recent passing of House Bill 244, each voter is now required to show photo identification. Acceptable forms of identification are: Georgia driver's license; U.S. passport; government-issued identification card with photo; government-issued employee identification card with photo; military identification with photo; or, tribal identification card with photo.

Absentee Voting will begin Monday, Oct. 17 and will end Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. If you are 75 years of age or older, physically disabled, required to remain on duty for the protection of health, life and safety of the public, if this election falls on a religious holiday you observe, or if you will be out of your precinct on Election Day, you may come by our office and vote absentee.

Advanced voting will be the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 4. To vote during this week, you will not have to provide our office with a reason. Our office is located in the Columbia County Government Center, Building B, in Evans, and is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
