Bicycle race at Fort Gordon

The Tour de Fort Bicycle Race and family events will be held at Fort Gordon starting at 8 a.m. Oct. 15 at the intersection of North Range Road, 15th Street and 111 Avenue.

The day's events will include a 12-hour endurance bicycle race beginning at 8 a.m., a family fun ride from 10 a.m to noon, and a family fun festival at 12:30 p.m. All hunting and unit training will be suspended Oct. 14 and 15 in areas intersected by Range and North Range roads.

Traveling baseball tryouts

The Grease Lightning 12-and-under traveling baseball team will hold the final tryouts for the 2005-06 season at Riverside Park in Evans at 2 p.m. Oct. 9. Players cannot turn 13 before May 1, 2006. For more information, contact Dean Glover at 868-4530 or Kevin Hunt at 210-0185.
