A study conducted by Educational Benchmarking Inc. has shown student satisfaction increasing over the past seven years at the University of Georgia, with food services at UGA rating in the top 1 percent of the 245 schools participating.
Mike Floyd, UGA's director of Food Services, said the study results are further validation of his department's recent recognitions that include the 2005 Onsite Best Concept Award-Best Special Event in the nation for Tango Argentina (a special event held in the student dining commons that featured Argentine cuisine and tango dance instructors who gave dancing lessons to students) and the 2005 Loyal E. Horton Dining Award, the grand prize for the Best Resident Hall/Meal Plan standard menu.
UGA Food Services has won 59 national awards since 1986.
Floyd, a 1973 graduate of Harlem High School, is the son of Jack and Betty Floyd, of Harlem.
