Phoenix University spring graduates
The following Columbia County residents recently were graduated from the University of Phoenix in the spring: Adam G. Schommer, of Evans, with a master of business administration degree; Donald A. Ervin, of Martinez, with a master of business administration degree; Michael Alan Hellstein, of Evans, with a bachelor of science in chemistry degree; and Eucabeth A. Kilonzo, of Fort Gordon, with a master of science in nursing degree.
Scholarship winners
Tiffany Plummer, an Evans High School junior, was recently awarded a $2,000 scholarship provided by Washington Group International. Choicy Corley, an Evans High School senior, also was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship provided by SRP Federal Credit Union.
County residents enter Liberty University
The following county residents entered Liberty University as freshmen this fall: Eugene Rogers, of Grovetown, who graduated from Greenbrier High School; and Megan Schmalfeldt, of Martinez, who graduated from Crestwood High School.
Bethany M. Dieterich, a 2005 graduate of Evans High, has been awarded the HOPE Scholarship, the Georgia Mining Association Scholarship, the Alpha Theta chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Scholarship, the North Georgia College and State University Fincher Loughridge Scholarship, the Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship, Martinez-Evans Rotary Club Outstanding Youth Award and Evans High School Interact Scholarship. Bethany is attending North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega. She is the daughter of Roy and Sheila Dieterich.

Becky Bence graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor of arts degree in English. Becky, a 2000 graduate of Evans High School, took time off to see Spain and Italy after a semester at the University of Valencia in Spain.

Neha Arora, a graduate of Evans High School, attends Augusta State University, where she has been on the Dean's List each semester since fall 2003. She is majoring in biology/pre-med. She is the daughter of Alvinder Arora.

Stacy M. Arrington, the daughter of Mike and Angie Arrington, of Martinez, has been named to the Dean's List at Georgia Military College. Stacey is a 2003 graduate from Lakeside High School and is majoring in dental hygiene.
