School carnival
River Ridge Elementary's first fall carnival will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the school, on Mullikin Road just off Furys Ferry Road.
Charity car wash
New Horizon Church, 213 Hightower Drive just off Washington Road in Martinez, will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to raise funds for Hurricane Katrina relief.
