Scholarship pageant planned

Contestants are being sought for the 2005 Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant, to be held Oct. 15. The pageant, sponsored by the Merchants Association of Columbia County, is for single women, ages 16-24 (17 by Jan. 15, 2006) who are residents of the area. Competition will be in swimsuit, evening gown and interview. The winner will represent Columbia County at the state pageant in Atlanta in January. Greenbrier Elementary book fair

Greenbrier Elementary School's Fall Book Fair will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday through Sept. 30 in the media center. Family Book Fair Night will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday.
