Tryouts planned

Chamber golf tournament

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will hold its inaugural golf tournament Tuesday at Champions Retreat in Evans. The event is a fund-raiser to benefit the chamber. Those interested in being a sponsor or in fielding a team should call 651-0018.

Junior golf contest

Jones Creek Golf Club will hold its drive, chip and putt contest at 2 p.m. Sept. 25 for junior golfers in three groups: ages 5-9, 10-13 and 14-17. The deadline for registration is Sept. 20. For information, call the club at 860-4228.
