Raising money for hurricane victims

Posted: Sunday, September 11, 2005

A group of Columbia County children set up a lemonade stand in front of Borders bookstore in Augusta to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims. The effort raised more than $400, and all of the funds will be donated to the American Red Cross along with a matching contribution from their parents. Items to make the lemonade were donated by Publix, Bi-Lo and friends of the familes. The children are Elise Collins (from left), Jamie Alexander, Jessica Murray, Amanda Bryant, Tanner Murray and Seth Collins, all of Martinez.
