Softball tryouts

Tennis tourney

The 2005 Banana Open Tennis Tournament will be held Friday-Sunday at Petersburg Raquet Club in Martinez. Winners from each division will qualify for the Banana Open Challenge in Hilton Head, S.C., Oct. 7-9. For information, call 860-9288.

Golf tournament

The CSRA Women's Golf Association will hold is 43rd annual 54-Hole Golf Tournament next week. The tournament begins Monday at The Reserve Club, continues on Tuesday at Midland Valley Country Club and concludes on Sept. 15 at Jones Creek Golf Club. For information, call 278-6243.

Lacrosse players needed

The Columbia County Lacrosse Club is seeking high school athletes who want to play lacrosse this fall for a county team that will play other Georgia teams. New players are welcome and encouraged. For information, call Jeff at 854-1908.
