Town hall meeting

Columbia County school board member Mike Sleeper will hold a town hall meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Greenbrier High School auditorium.

GED studies

Registration will be held from 1-3 p.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday at the Dyers Park Building, 902 James Brown Blvd., Augusta, for a pre-GED remedial studies program. Classes begin Sept. 19. Space is limited. For information, call 722-4097.

Red Cross training

Volunteer instructors are needed to teach CPR, AED and first aid. An instructor training class will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday-Friday. For information, call the Red Cross office at 724-8481, ext. 208.

History program

The Augusta Museum of History will present its next monthly Brown Bag History Series at noon Wednesday. Thomas H. Robertson will discuss Augusta Canal history. To make reservations by Tuesday, call 722-8454.

EHS Class of 1980 members sought

A committee planning a reunion of the Evans High School class of 1980 will meet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Salsa's on Bobby Jones Expressway. Members of the class also are being sought and are invited to attend. Call Paul Ashmore at 860-6863.

Fort rodeo

The Fort Gordon Rodeo will be held from 8-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Barton Field. Gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $12 at the gates, $10 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under if purchased in advance off post at Domino's Pizza locations. Artists sought

Saturday is the deadline for entries for artists to compete in Columbia County's seventh annual Arts and Renaissance Festival and Juried Art Show to be held Oct. 14 at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. There are several art categories with a total purse of $3,200. Food and craft vendors representing the period are also being sought. For information, call 312-7415.
