The Augusta Christian Schools cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleaders' Association camp sponsored by the South Carolina Independent School Association from July 6-9 at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. Attending the camp were varsity cheerleaders Jessica Bell, Barbie Bufford, Martha Campbell, Lindsey Cliatt, Abbey Ferrell, Amanda Harrison, Megan King, Jordan Rangel, Stephanie Shirley, Courtney Smith, co-captain Megan Newman, captain Melanie Yarbrough, head coach Jaime McKie and assistant coach Carmen Scruggs. Also there was the junior high squad: Kate Bissell, Adalyn Dickinson, Courtney Fearneyhough, Jessica Spray, captains Mary O'Neal and Carolyne McKie, and coach Robin Thomas. The squads competed in the camp championships, and the varsity squad took first place in the cheer division. Also from the varsity group - Megan King was named both UCA and SCISA all-star cheerleader; Courtney Smith made the UCA all-star team, and Jessica Bell received SCISA all-star honors. Carolyne McKie, ACS junior high co-captain, was named UCA all-star.
