Lakeside High School Marching Band members Christian Diaz (from left), Ben Chan and Shantah Gowda play xylophones during the band's halftime show Friday during the game with Westside High. On Ben's xylophone is a framed photo and the hat of Chelsea Collins, a14-year-old freshman bandmember who died after collapsing during a P.E. class Aug. 22 at Lakeside. The band has dedicated its halftime show to Chelsea for the rest of the season, and is keeping her spot on the xylophone open in her memory.
