Artists may compete in juried art show

Sept. 10 is the deadline for artists to enter to compete in Columbia County's seventh annual Arts and Renaissance Festival and Juried Art Show, set for Oct. 14 at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. Several art categories carry a total purse of $3,200. Food and craft vendors representing the period are also being sought. For information, call 312-7415.

Evans class of 1980 reunion being planned

A committee planning a reunion of Evans High School's Class of 1980 will meet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at Salsa's on Bobby Jones Expressway. Members of the class also are being sought and are invited to attend. For information, call Paul Ashmore at 860-6863.

Marker unveiled

The Grovetown Museum, the city of Grovetown and the Georgia Historical Society will dedicate a historical marker for poet and writer Paul Hamilton Hayne at 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Grovetown Museum, 106 W. Robinson Ave. For information, call 868-6338.
