Tennis tourney

The 2005 Banana Open Tennis Tournament will be held Sept. 8-11 at Petersburg Raquet Club in Martinez, with divisions for men's and women's singles, doubles and mixed. Winners from each division will qualify for the Banana Open Challenge in Hilton Head Island, S.C., Oct. 7-9.

Baseball tryouts

Golf meeting

The Ladies Golf Association at Jones Creek will hold its annual Tee Off meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Jones Creek Clubhouse. LGA is open to golfers of all skill levels. Membership in Jones Creek Golf Club is not required.

T-Ball coaches

Tennis league

The CSRA Professional Tennis Association is sponsoring a novice tennis league for beginning adult players. The six-week league will meet Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. beginning Sept. 18. Those interested in playing should call Petersburg Racquet Club in Martinez at 860-9288.

Softball players needed
