Steven Lee Abbott, of Martinez, was promoted from chief ranger to chief ranger senior for the Georgia Forestry Commission's Columbia and Richmond County units. Abbott has been employed with the Georgia Forestry Commission since 1983 and has been a chief ranger since 2000.

The Army Aviation Association of America announced the appointment of retired Army Brig. Gen. Thomas J. Konitzer as its new president. Konitzer is the president of TJK Konsulting in Augusta. He and his wife, Judy, reside in Evans, and together have seven children and five grandchildren.

Winyah Home Health Care, an Amedisys company, announced that Thomas Hawk Jr. has joined the Augusta office as the new rehab program manager for Columbia and Richmond counties. The Evans resident is responsible for developing and maintaining the physical rehabilitation disease state management programs for the local office.
