Attention, job seekers: Starting Thursday, the new Target in Evans just might be looking for you.

The business, being constructed on Washington Road in the Mullins Crossing shopping center, will hold a mass hiring event from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Patriots Park gymnasium.

"This is the big one,'' said Anthony Childress, the team leader of the Target. About 150 people will be hired for the store as a result of the three-day event.

Childress said he anticipates as many as 2,000 people will show up for the three days.

"They'll be filling out applications there, and they'll be going through the interview process,'' he said. "... Depending on the crowd, it may take a little while for them to get through.''

Childress said some will be hired on site, while others will be hired later. He said those attending might want to bring their rsums.

Target is set for an Oct. 9 grand opening. The store will offer a Pizza Hut inside, along with a Starbucks coffee and a pharmacy.
