The event will be held at 5:45 p.m. at the church, 515 N. Belair Road. Admission is free.
"It's an opportunity to remember how God has used the people of his church to make a difference in the lives of people and in the life of this community," said Steve Spencer, who has been the church's pastor for 6 years. "It's also an opportunity to look back and remember the founders and people of the past."
As part of the celebration, two additional events will take place during the week. On Thursday, the Blackwood Brothers quartet will perform in concert at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, the church will culminate the festivities with a special worship service and fellowship meal.
During the celebration, Spencer said, former and current members from several generations will have the opportunity to fellowship with one another. The celebration is not just about reflecting on the past, though.
"It's also an opportunity to think about the future too,'' Spencer said. "It's an opportunity for us to renew our vision and commitment and give thanks for partnerships with God."
