Chamber breakfast
The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will hold its "Not Just Coffee" meeting at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at 671 N. Belair Road. Phone-book recycling
Keep Columbia County Beautiful has placed two recycling bins for telephone books at the Government Complex and the Water Works building on Evans To Locks Road. The bins will be available for three weeks. For information, call 868-3484.

Red Cross training
The Augusta Red Cross will offer lifeguard classes from 4 to 8:40 p.m. Monday-Saturday at the Plantation Pointe Pool located in Plantation Pointe Place subdivision in Lincolnton. The cost is $115. For information, call 724-8481.

The Augusta Archeological Society will meet at 8 p.m. Friday in Room 111 of Augusta Technical College Building 100. Dr. Albert Goodyear will be the guest speaker. Girl Scout recruitment
A Girl Scout recruitment and registration rally will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stevens Creek Elementary School. Opportunities for girls and leaders include camping, crafts, sports, swimming, theater, trips, scholarships and more. The rally is sponsored by the Lakeside Service Unit.
