County budget unbalanced

The fiscal year budget for the Columbia County Board of Commissioners is closer to being approved, according to county comptroller Kay Allen, but it still is not balanced.

Anticipated revenue for the 1980-81 fiscal year totals $3.8 million.

Tentatively approved expenditures total $3.75 million. Funds exceeding the amount of the surplus have informally been committed by the county for various projects, Allen said.

Also, the Board of Commissioners has yet to consider capital improvement projects totaling $760,000 for the year.
