Evans might rank No. 32 when it comes to Money magazine's Top 100 list of Best Places to Live, but for those outside of the Augusta area, a distinction must be made.
That's Evans, Ga., not Evans, Colo., or Evans City, Pa., that's on the list.
And when it comes to how Evans, Ga., compares to other Evans cities throughout the nation, there actually are some similarities to at least one other Evans.
Much like Evans, Ga., Evans, Colo., has experienced significant growth during the past few years, Bruce Eisenhauer, the city manager, said.
"Currently, we are about 18,000 in population," he said, adding that Evans is considered a bedroom community and is adjacent to Greeley, Colo., a shared district between the communities.
Eisenhauer attributed much of his city's growth to how affordable the area is.
"A lot of people are wanting to get into smaller communities and are looking for opportunities to fit their lifestyles,'' he said.
