People bought the cookies so that they could be donated to a charity of the girls' choice. Thomas C. Houston has been named to the Dean's List at Augusta State University for the spring semester. Houston is a 2002 honor graduate of Lakeside High School and has been accepted to the University of Georgia, where he will study journalism. Houston is the son of Kimberly and Tom Houston, of Evans.
UGA Dean's List
Eryc Jordan Christian Scot Riddle, a 2003 Evans High School graduate, has been named to the Dean's List at the University of Georgia. Riddle is a geography major and plans to study real estate law. He serves as a co-chairman of the geography club and mentors students in Wesley Youth.
Northeastern University Dean's List
Martinez resident Katelin Farrell has been named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at Northeastern University. Farrell is majoring in theater.
Members of Boy Scout Troop 615 clean up at the Broad Street Mission as part of their service requirements. After boys make first-class rank, they need six hours for every rank up to Eagle.

Air Force seminar participant
Lisa Higgins, of Evans, has been selected to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy's Summer Seminar program for 2005.
The selection criteria are based on a student's academic achievement, athletic abilities, leadership skills and desire to pursue a career in the Air Force.
VMI inductee
Cadet Peter J. Borchelt, of Evans, was recently inducted into Phi Eta Sigma at Virginia Military Institute. Borchelt is a mechanical engineering major and a graduate of Evans High School. He is the son of Joel and Debra Borchelt, of Evans.
Mercer graduate
Allison B. Smith, of Evans, has received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Mercer University. Smith, a 2001 Lakeside High School graduate, will begin graduate studies in the fall at the University of Georgia in counseling psychology.
