Brenau Dean's List

Whit Wilder of Evans, Ga., graduated from Clemson University in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. Wilder is the son of Hugh and Kathy Wilder and a graduate of Evans High School. His grandparents are Ellie DuBose and Vivion Wilder of Sumpter, S.C.

SIUC graduates

The following Columbia County residents recently graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale: Zachary Thomas Curry, of Evans; Richard J. Wingate, of Harlem; and Edward Joseph Townsend, of Martinez. Darin B. Evans, of Harlem, also was recently recognized for achieving academic excellence at SIUC.

Child care recognition

Robbie Germany, of Harlem, and Kellie Watson, of Martinez, have been awarded a Child Development Associate Credential in recognition of outstanding work with young children. The credential was awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C.

Georgia Tech honors

 

Michael Robert Chesnut graduated with a bachelor of science in Information technology from the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Navy on May 27. Chestnut graduated from Evans High School in 2001 and is the son of Steve and Karen Chesnut. He will pursue his master's degree at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.

Corrie Navarro, daughter of Victor and Pamela Navarro, of Martinez, has recently obtained the academic standing of faculty honors at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Navarro is a 2001 graduate of Augusta Christian Schools and is active in the youth ministry with YouthWorks Inc., spending her summer in Arecibo, Puerto Rico as a site program director.
