Rocking chairs stolen from restaurant
The manager of the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Martinez told police Thursday that someone stole four rocking chairs from the restaurant's front porch.
The manager said three men in a late 1990s model king-cab Ford F-150 pick-up took the chairs, valued at a total of $650, just before noon Thursday from the restaurant's front porch, where they are lined up for sale, according to a sheriff's office incident report.
The manager told police the incident was caught on a surveillance DVD, which was turned in as evidence, the report stated.
Woman reports harassing phone call
An Evans woman told police Friday that someone called her home claiming to be a member of the Imperial White Knights.
The 28-year-old said she got a call just after 2 a.m. Friday, according to a sheriff's office report. She told police that two men said they were from the Imperial White Knights, also known as the Ku Klux Klan, according to the report. The woman told police that the callers knew her name and said they wanted to confirm her address.
The woman told officials she immediately hung up and called the sheriff's office.
Items taken from Goodwill
A clerk at the Goodwill on Washington Road in Martinez told police Thursday that a man walked out with two loaded carts of items without paying.
The clerk said a man filled two carts with pants, shirts and other items just before 5:30 p.m. and left the store without paying, according to the sheriff's office report.
The clerk said the man left in a blue Dodge Durango and headed east on Washington Road.
