GSU Dean's List
Michael David Moore made the Dean's List at Georgia Southern University for the spring as a math education major. David was an honor graduate of Harlem High School in 2000. He plans to be a high school teacher and coach when he graduates. His parents are Sue and Chris Rosser, of Harlem, and Mike Moore, of Augusta.

Tanya West, a 2005 graduate of Augusta Christian Schools, was awarded a scholarship from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, College Hill chapter. Tanya was recognized at a local chapter meeting held at West Lake Country Club along with her parents, Scott and Tammy West.

Citadel cadet honored
Cadet Michael Anthony Rivera, of Evans, was recently honored for outstanding academic achievement at The Citadel during the spring semester of the 2004-05 academic year. Rivera is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Enrique Rivera.
Program attendees
Kathryn Farney, of Martinez, was to attend the Presidential Classroom's Program in Washington, D.C., to explore the federal legal system and issues of freedom and order in a democratic society. Kirstin Rissing, of Evans, also has been selected to participate in the program, in which she will interact with Washington insiders, senior military officials, top business leaders and journalists.
Furman honor society
Airman Charles G. Burdette of Martinez, a 2002 graduate of Evans High School, recently completed Naval basic training in Great Lakes, Ill., and Aviation Maintenance Administration "A" School at Naval Aviation Technical Training Learning Site in Meridian, Miss. Burdette is assigned to the Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Fla., Madfox Squadron, and is deployed at Sigonelle Naval Air Station, Italy.

Mary E. Mangum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Mangum, of Martinez, has been inducted into Furman University's chapter of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. To be eligible, students must post a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale during one term of their freshman year.
Wake Forest Dean's List
Jaren Kennedy, of Martinez, was named to the Dean's List at Lee University for spring 2005. Jaren is the son of Michael and Cindy Kennedy.
