Adrienne Popplewell, daughter of Mike and Christie Popplewell, of Appling, has been named to the Augusta State University's Dean's List for the fall 2004 and spring 2005 semesters. Adrienne is a 2004 graduate of Augusta Christian Schools.

Allison Popplewell, daughter of Mike and Christie Popplewell, of Appling, is the 2005 valedictorian of Augusta State University. Allison graduated summa cum laude May 14 and received a bachelor of science in education degree. She also was recognized by the Board of Regents as the 2005 Academic Recognition Day Scholar.

Brittany Armstrong, of Evans, is a recipient of a $1,500 college scholarship through the annual Scholarships for Military Children Program at Fort Gordon. She plans to attend the University of Georgia.

UGA Dean's List

Lindsay E. Bissell, daughter of Carla Gracey Jenkins and Rob Bissell, of Evans, was named to the Dean's List at the University of Georgia. The 2003 Lakeside High School graduate will spend the summer at Iroquois Springs Summer Camp north of New York City as an activities specialist.

 

Augusta Preparatory Day School's Tim Shafer received the Outstanding Teacher Award from Patricia Brackin, an associate professor of mechanical engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind., and a member of the school's honors and awards committee.
