Group will perform at community church

The Christian music duo Shane and Shane will perform at Stevens Creek Community Church on Saturday.

The church, which is at 600 Stevens Creek Road in Martinez, will hold a concert featuring the acoustic guitar-playing folk group and the church's music team. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, and can be purchased at the church or the Family Christian Stores in Augusta.

Todd Sturgell, the creative worship pastor for the church, said the performance will be similar to an intimate coffeehouse setting.

"They have great harmony and songwriters," he said. The church decided to bring the group to the area because of its popularity among young members in the church. "They've just really caught on, especially in church circles, as far as the teenagers and students in the college-age ministries. People just really like them."

The group is composed of Shane Barnard and Shane Everett.

Sturgell said anyone planning on attending the event should get their tickets as soon as possible.

"We feel like they're probably going to sell out," he said.
