Brenau University Dean's and Merit list
Aaron Barton of Greenbrier High School has received a 2005 American Association of Teachers of French Outstanding High School Senior in French award. Aaron is an officer of the French Club and has participated in National French Week activities.

Piedmont graduate
Brenton Timmerman, of Martinez, was among 460 students receiving degrees from Piedmont College at the May commencement ceremonies. Timmerman earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.
Nathan Cranata, a fifth-grader at Lewiston Elementary School, set a school record with 1,101 reading counts points.

Young Harris graduates
The following Columbia County residents recently graduated from Young Harris College: Allison Leigh Hillman, who graduated magna cum laude and received the associate of science with concentration in education; and Brittany Darla Jackson, who received an associate of arts degree; Hillman is a 2003 graduate of Westminster High School and is the daughter of Richard and Cheryl Hillman. Her grandparents are Evelyn Hillman, of Augusta, and Reba and Earl McCoy, of Martinez. Jackson is a 2003 graduate of Augusta Christian School and the daughter of Billy and Robin Jackson, of Evans. Her grandparents are Paula Dukes, of Evans, Bill Jackson, of Appling, and Gerard and Darlene McKnight, of Martinez.
North Georgia Presidents List
Alison Leonard, of Grovetown, has been named to the President's List at North Georgia College & State University for the spring semester.
Tony Bertucci, of Martinez, was named to the President's Honor List at Georgia College and State University for achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA for both the fall 2004 and spring 2005 semesters. Bertucci is a sophomore majoring in chemistry as part of the university's pre-medicine program and was recently inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society for freshmen. He also earned a varsity letter as a member of the men's tennis team and served as treasurer of the Foundation Hall Council. Bertucci is a 2004 Honor graduate of Lakeside high school, graduating with an overall GPA of 4.0.
