Swamp activities

The Phinizy Swamp Nature Park will hold EcoCamp: Swamp Adventures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday. The camp is for rising third- through fifth-graders, and will feature hands-on activities on animal habitats, wetland values and more. The cost is $100 for the week for Academy members; $125 for nonmembers; $25 a day for Academy members; and $30 a day for nonmembers. To register before Friday, call 828-2109.

Lifeguard training

The Augusta Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer lifeguard classes through Friday at the National Hills Pool, 1107 Brookwood in Augusta. An additional class will be offered June 21-July 1 at the Petersburg Station pool at 421 The Pass in Martinez. The cost is $115 for each class. Students must be 15 years old and be able to pass the swimming pre-test. For information, call 724-8481.
