Lifeguard training
The Augusta Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer lifeguard classes through June 17 at the National Hills Pool located at 1107 Brookwood Drive in Augusta. An additional class will be offered beginning June 21 at the Petersburg Station pool at 421 The Pass in Martinez. The cost is $115 for each class. Students must be 15 years old and be able to pass the swimming pre-test. For information, call 724-8481.
Summer camp
Patriots Park will hold a summer day camp from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through July 22 for child ren age 6 to 12. Activities include arts and crafts, field trips, water activities and guest speakers. To register with Robbie Kiser, call 868-3458.
Parking lot sale
A parking lot sale will be held at Westside Christian Church, 4352 Columbia Road in Evans, from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 18. For more information, call 863-6281.
Land meeting
The Georgia Forestry Association will hold a landowners' meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the Thomson campus of Augusta Technical College, 388 Tech Drive. Speakers' topics will include marketing and management of forest products. Registration costs $10 per person or $15 per couple, with refreshments provided. For more information, call 650-7650.
CPR training
- The Augusta chapter of the American Red Cross is offering community first aid and safety classes for infant, children and adult CPR and first aid at 6 p.m. on the following dates: June 15-16; June 20-23; and June 28-29. The cost for classes ranges from $35 to $55, depending on the training class. Call 724-8481 for details.
- A CPR and professional rescuer review class will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The cost is $45 with book and $55 without book.
