The 2005 All Columbia County Boys Soccer Team

FIRST TEAM

F Thomas Knerr, Augusta Prep, Jr. - All State performer led the Cavs with 19 goals and 20 assists.

F Kevin Burton, Evans, Jr. - Burton returned from a career-threatening foot injury to score 16 goals for the best team in Evans history.

F Bobby Zimmerman, Greenbrier, Soph. - Creative ball handler scored the goal against Evans to win region title.

F Brett Nevin, Harlem, Sr. - Led the county with 26 goals.

MF Sam Giovino, Evans, Sr. - Led Evans with 21 goals and 16 assists and scored five goals in four playoff games.

MF Chance Lord, Greenbrier, Sr. - Four-year starter was named team MVP and was team captain.

MF Brooks Duff, Greenbrier, Soph. - The team leader in assists, Duff was great at getting his teammates involved.

MF Will Dunaway, Lakeside, Soph. - Maybe the most electric goal scorer in the county, Dunaway suffered through foot injuries in 2005 but still had six goals and the game winner over Greenbrier.

D Chad Strader, Evans, Jr. - One of the area's better marking backs, Strader made two key saves in the playoff game against Whitewater.

D Patrick Burke, Evans, Sr. - Moved to center defender his senior year to help the team.

D Rusty Allen, Greenbrier, Jr. - Scored seven goals while playing stopper for the Wolfpack.

D Todd Stader, Evans, Sr.-Strader played stopper for the Knights and was usually sent to shut down the opposition's best player.

K Joey Ralph, Evans, Sr. - Best keeper in the CSRA and one of the best in the state. Pitched six shutouts, won a shootout and had a 19-save game.

SECOND TEAM

F Ben Parrish, Greenbrier, Sr. - Scored seven goals on the season, including two against Class A/AA state champion Aquinas.

F Chase Prescott, Augusta Prep, Sr. - All Region pick was quick, which led to 12 goals, second on the team.

F Kenny Anderson, Harlem, Soph. - Strong offensive threat for the young Bulldogs team.

F Ben Huston, Lakeside, Sr. - Led team in scoring with 12 goals even though he missed five games with a dislocated shoulder.

MF David Knerr, Augusta Prep, Sr. - All State performer was a vocal leader and team captain for the second straight season.

MF Luke Gibb, Greenbrier, Jr. - Scored five goals and had six assists. Neutralized ARC's Cline Beam in Greenbrier's 1-0 win over the Class AAA state champs.

MF Tyrell Dyson, Harlem, Jr. - Flashy ball handler has been a strong player since he stepped on campus.

MF Michael Crosland, Augusta Prep, Jr. - An All-Region selection, Crosland stepped up this season with 22 points.

D Nick Dross, Greenbrier, Jr.-Sweeper who anchored the Greenbrier defense.

D Blake Bradenburg, Lakeside, Sr. - Started every game at sweeper despite never playing high school soccer.

D Wilder Harte, Augusta Prep, Jr. - Second straight season anchoring the Cavs defense as sweeper. Named all region.

D David Schwartz, Lakeside, Sr. - Captain returned from midseason knee surgery to help the Panthers make the playoffs.

GK Jonathan Shackelford, Greenbrier, Jr. - The best goalie in any other year if it wasn't for Ralph's banner season.
