Crossroads Academy provides personal service for troubled students

Editor,

I am writing about Crossroads Academy. I wish that the public could go to the school to see what it was all about and how it was run. As a parent of a past student, I have nothing but good to say about the school and its staff.

The students are being punished for their acts through the judicial system and the probation department. The staff is doing above and beyond their duty. The students are not only getting the education they deserve, but also in my book a better education than they were getting at their home schools. The teachers and administration not only teach, but give support and counseling that these students need.

Our daughter was given an opportunity to apply for scholarships for college and encouraged to further her education. She did graduate, and went on to college and received a degree. Without Crossroads, college would not have been high on her list of achievements.

I am glad that we had the opportunity to be part of that school and support them to the fullest. I cannot name one person in particular to thank for all the help, because they all take part in each student. It has been a few years since we were involved with the school, but I think of them often and thank them for all the help they gave to our daughter.

Our daughter is no longer with us but we still get calls from the staff to just say hello and see how we are doing. No one from the home school has ever contacted us in our time of sorrow. In my book that says a lot for Crossroads.

Keep up the good work. It is appreciated even if you don't hear it very often.
