Services: Sunday traditional service, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.; Sunday contemporary service, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.; Wednesday meal, 5:15 p.m.; and Wednesday Bible study and fellowship, 6 p.m.

"In the fall, the church will start a traditional Sunday service at 8:30 a.m.," Porterfield said, adding that the church has concurrent children's, study and music services.

Membership: Most who attend are from Columbia, Richmond and Aiken counties.

Known for: Porterfield said the church is known for "inward spiritual growth," which is expressed in serving Christ to other people through mission-oriented projects.

Music: The church offers traditional and contemporary music. The church uses instruments such as a piano, guitar, drums, saxophone and more.

"We have a contemporary band in our contemporary service, and we have a traditional choir for our traditional service," he said.

What would you say to someone who's thinking about giving your church a try?

"I think this is a place where we can encourage you to grow closer to Christ by growing closer to your community and world," he said.

What do you believe is the biggest issue facing the faithful today?

"To have confidence that the work that Christ has began in us, Christ will complete in us," he said. "All we have to do is open our hearts to him."
