Augusta Christian School senior Jon Kilpatrick has been honored for his exemplary volunteer service with a President's Volunteer Service Award. Jon participated in the Spirit of Community program this year as a representative of Augusta Christian Schools in Martinez. He earned his award by completing a nature trail and outdoor classroom for Lewiston Elementary School.

Brian Cornell Bratton, a December graduate from Furman University, has been selected to an internship with the commissioner's staff of the Southern Conference, an NCAA Division I Athletic Conference in Spartanburg, S.C. Bratton is a graduate of Lakeside High School.

University of Georgia Presidential Scholar
Bradford Perry Huffman, son of Perry and Jeanie Huffman, of Martinez, has been named a Presidential Scholar for the fall semester at the University of Georgia. He is a sophomore majoring in biology and is a 2003 Lakeside High School graduate.
Georgia Southwestern Dean's List and graduate
Gregory A. Ryan, of Evans, has been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at Georgia Southwestern State University.
Tameka E. Rolle, of Evans, has been named to the college's academic achievement list and graduated from the college in the fall.
