Louis Harris award to The News-Times' publisher 'was long overdue'

This past week's announcement of News-Times publisher Barry Paschal as winner of the Augusta West Rotary's Louis Harris Award was long overdue.

Paschal's local career track record is unparalleled in print journalism, and his local historical knowledge is second to no one in the industry.

If you want to understand Columbia County's yesterdays and "todays," Paschal is a must-read. So many journalists come and go in this market, I hope Columbia County knows how lucky it is to have a "hometown native" keeping them informed, entertained, and educated. The CSRA is Paschal's chosen home, and it shows.
