"We have children activities during all the services," pastor Finley Limehouse said, adding that the youth group meets Sunday at 5:45 p.m. and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Known for: "Riverside is a community church with a long history in Augusta, Ga., dating back to 1860, when it was established as the Second Baptist Church of Augusta," Limehouse said. Formerly named Baker Woods Baptist Church, services begin May 1 at Riverside's new sanctuary in the former Grace Baptist Church building.

Music: The church offers a blend of contemporary and traditional Christian music and has a praise band.

What would you say to someone who's thinking about giving your church a try?

"They'll find a warm welcome from people who are genuinely interested in others and a heart of Christian service for the community," Limehouse said.

What do you believe is the biggest issue facing the faithful today?

"Staying true to the good news of Jesus Christ and, at the same time, relevant to contemporary society," he said.
