Art in the barn

Group meeting

Drama performance

The Young Artists Repertory Theatre Company Inc. will present William Gibson's drama The Miracle Worker at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and at 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday at Augusta Preparatory Day School, 285 Flowing Wells Road in Martinez. Benefit concert

Augusta recording artist Brad Davis will be performing a benefit concert at 10 p.m. Friday at Harlem Middle School, 375 West Forrest St. The concert will be held in conjunction to the Relay for Life event in Harlem. Admission is free. For information, call 836-1045.

Cancer benefit

The Stratford Stars Relay for Life Team and Jumpin' Party Zone-USA will hold a Jump for a Cure fund-raiser event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Jumpin' Party Zone, 4495 Columbia Road, Suite 3B in Martinez. Pizza and soft drinks will be served. The cost per child is $5. Proceeds will go to the Relay for Life American Cancer Society. Prayer conference

Mosaic United Methodist Church will hold a conference on prayer at 6 p.m. Friday and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Friday and Saturday sessions of the conference will be held on the campus of First Baptist Church in Augusta. The Sunday morning session will be held at Evans High School, where Mosaic meets weekly. The cost for the Friday and Saturday sessions of the conference is $15. Spring carnival

River Ridge Elementary, Columbia County's newest school, will hold a spring carnival with games and concessions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Riverside Elementary School on Hardy McManus Road.

Powerfest

Radio station WPRW-FM (107.7) will hold the fifth annual Powerfest from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds, 308 Hale St. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the gate the day of the show. Walkathon

Augusta Urban Ministries will hold its 20th Anniversary fund-raiser Walkathon on Saturday in the Summerville area of Augusta. The walk begins and ends at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 2220 Walton Way at Milledge Road. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. A youth rally with worship and entertainment for student participants will follow the walk at Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church. Walkers can obtain pledge envelopes by contacting Augusta Urban Ministries at 722-8195 or visiting the ministry at 303 Hale St.

Adult classes

St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 117 Pleasant Home Road in Martinez, will sponsor a two-week Sunday evening adult series, Catholic Understanding of Scripture, given by Tony Warenzak. Classes will be from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Sunday and May 1. For information, call 863-4956.
