Golf tournament

The Sharon Baptist Church golf tournament to raise funds for youth programs will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Rocky Branch Golf Course in Lincolnton, Ga. For information, call Thad Grey at 863-4443.

Volleyball camp

The Greenbrier volleyball team will hold its annual volleyball camp for girls in the sixth through ninth grade June 6-9 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The cost is $65. For more information, call 650-6043, ext. 220.

Umpires needed

The Columbia County Recreation Department is in need of baseball officials. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and be able to work Monday through Friday evenings and occasional Saturday mornings. Basketball camp

Lakeside Middle will play host to the Sure-Shot Basketball Camp for boys entering grades 6-9 and boys and girls entering grades 2-5. The camp for the older boys will be June 6-10 and June 13-17, 1-4:30 p.m. Cost is $80. The younger campers will have their camp from 9 a.m.-noon June 6-10, June 13-17 and July 18-22. Cost is $75. Cheerleading tryouts

Southern Mpact Athletics, home of the 14-time national champion All Star Cheerleading Panthers, will hold tryouts for the 2005-06 season April 26-29. There will be informational meetings on April 18 and 19. For more information, call 737-2727.

Golf tournament

Fatz Cafe is sponsoring the Second Annual Spring Golf Classic on May 4 at the Jones Creek Golf Club, benefiting the Jenny Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund. A noon shotgun start is planned. The tournament is limited to the first 34 teams. The tournament team fee of $400 includes prizes for first-, second-, and third-place teams, prizes for on-course competitions and various door prizes.

Basketball camp

Greenbrier High School will hold its second annual youth basketball camp from May 31-June 3. The camp is open to all boys and girls from fourth through eighth grade. Softball clinic

Greenbrier will hold a softball clinic May 31-June 3 at Patriots Park. The clinic will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. daily and is for girls in grades 1-8. The cost is $80 for one child or $60 each for siblings. Call Garrett Black at 650-6040 or 863-8709.

Baseball players needed

An 11-and-under tournament/traveling baseball team is looking for four new players, ages 10-11 years old. For information, call 840-1066 or 877-3156.

Recreation registration

The Columbia County Recreation Department is holding registration for summer basketball and indoor soccer. Registration ends April 29 and the age limit for soccer is 5-9 years old and for basketball, 10-15. Call 863-7523.

Soccer staffers sought

The Columbia County Patriots are expanding and reorganizing for the spring 2005 season. Qualified personnel are needed to fill coaching and staff positions. Call Phil Sines at 860-1148.

Soccer expansion
