Editor:
I appreciate the recent News-Times story on the Pooles Grocery exhibit in the Grovetown Museum. Donnie Fetter did a good job except that he left out giving credit to the two artists who constructed the exhibit.
The mural portion was painted by Lisa Shead of Appling. She has painted all of the murals in North Columbia Elementary School, and is an exceptionally talented artist.
The porch roof and "liars' bench" were constructed by Dewey Roberts, a member of the Museum's Board of Directors. Roberts is retired from the Columbia County school system's maintenance department. Roberts also used his talents as a carpenter to build many sets for the Evans High and Harlem High school's drama departments.
These two individuals deserve special recognition for their talents and service to Grovetown and Columbia County.
