Star Students
Zachary Strother and Nakul Shekhawat, graduating seniors attending Columbia County's Lakeside High School in Evans, have tied as the 2005 Region Seven Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) STAR (Student Teacher Recognition Achievement) Student. Strother chose his Advanced Placement Physics teacher John Cato (far left) as his STAR Teacher. Shekhawat chose his Advanced Placement Language/Composition teacher and Debate Coach Charles Heywood (far right) as his STAR Teacher. It is the fourteenth time that Heywood has been so honored. The announcement was made at the Region Seven STAR Banquet, sponsored by the Georgia Power Company. The banquet was held March 31at the First Baptist Church in Thomson.
