Stars win tournament

The Columbia County Stars of Harlem came out on top when Diamond Lakes played host to the March Madness Baseball Tournament on March 4-6. Billy Gamblin, Mike Arrington and Keith Barden coached the 14-and-under AAA boys team through a string of wins that led the team to tournament victory and a berth in the USSSA World Series in Tulsa, Okla., on July 10-17. The traveling team has been playing together since 2001 and competing locally, regionally and nationally since 2002. The players include Will Anderson, Patrick Arrington, Tyler Barden, Tyler Corcoran, Cody Cozart, Brandon Dominy, Daniel Duncan, Patrick Gamblin, Tanner Hall, Aaron Lewis, Jeffrey Rice and A.J. Thibodeau.
